YouTubers arrested with firearm and dagger, say Delhi Police

A person was arrested and a juvenile apprehended Tuesday night from Delhi’s Dwarka district for allegedly possessing unlawful arms bought to make YouTube movies, stated the police. The grownup accused was recognized as Mahavir enclave resident Shivanand, 24. The police added that they’re trying to find the weapon provider.

Officers on the Bindapur police station stated that the 2 accused had been seen helmet-less on a scooter, driving from NSIT in direction of the Dwarka Mor space, on Tuesday at 5.30 pm. When the police directed them to cease, they tried to flee. The police apprehended them after blocking their path with their car.

After the police frisked the 2 accused, a big dagger or knife was discovered within the bag of the juvenile. When Shivanand was searched, a country-made pistol together with two stay cartridges had been discovered. Officers stated a case was subsequently registered beneath Part 25 (prohibited arms/ammunition) of the Arms Act.

Officers added that after interrogation, the weapon provider Ajal was recognized, and was discovered to be absconding. They added that raids are underway to arrest him.

In response to Harsha Vardhan, DCP (Dwarka), “Shivanand had accomplished a one-year medical technician course after Class 12. Now he makes vlogs, movies and reels on YouTube. As he wanted to cross 1 million views to earn revenue on movies, he bought these weapons to make reels and vlogs with them, and enhance his views on YouTube.”

DCP Harsha Vardhan added a dagger, a country-made pistol, and two stay cartridges had been seized from the 2 accused.
