Sodium chloride is the chemical name of salt and is an electrolyte, which regulates the amount of water in your body. It is also important in muscle contractions and nerve impulses. Sodium chloride is used in the treatment of sodium loss due to excessive sweating, dehydration, and many more causes. It is an ionic compound and the chemical formula is NaCl that represents a 1:1 ratio of sodium and chloride ions.
It is the salt and is most responsible for the salinity of seawater and is commonly used as a food preservative and condiment. Sodium chloride is also used in the production of hydrochloric acid, and sodium sulfate during the process of Hargreaves and Mannheim. It is also an important component of drilling fluid in well drilling in oil and gas exploration.
How to take –
Take sodium chloride with or without food and should be taken with a full glass of water. Generally, it is given by using injection into a vein as per instructed by your doctor.
