The Telangana excessive courtroom on Thursday ordered issuance of notices to some senior officers of the state authorities on a petition in opposition to allotment of land to the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) for organising its workplace in Hyderabad.

A retired worker, who filed the PIL, challenged the allotment of presidency land measuring 4,935 sq. yards in posh Banjara Hills locality to the TRS for building of its Hyderabad district workplace.

The land allotment relies on an earlier Authorities Order that allowed allotment of land to political events on lease foundation.

The petitioner alleged that the land was allotted to TRS for simply 100 per sq. yard. The courtroom after listening to the matter directed that notices be issued to the chief secretary, chief commissioner of the land administration, principal secretary of the income division, Hyderabad district collector and TRS represented by its president Okay Chandrasekhar Rao and its occasion basic secretary M Srinivas Reddy.

The courtroom then directed them to file their counters and posted the matter after 4 weeks.
